General Terms and Conditions
The warranty period is calculated from the date of the delivery of the goods, unless mandatory statutory warranty law provides otherwise.
The maintenance intervals given in the product manual must be adhered to. A commercial warranty claim may be refused where failure to comply with the maintenance requirements caused or materially contributed to the defect. Unless stated otherwise, the usual intervals apply: shock absorber/fork every 12 months, brake visual inspection before each ride, etc.
All claims need to be reported to Mapfour's after-sales team first (aftersales@mapfour.com), since during the valid commercial warranty period, all parts, where it has been reasonably determined by Mapfour that there is a construction and/or other defect, will be repaired, reimbursed, or replaced with accessories, etc., at Mapfour's reasonable discretion and in accordance with mandatory consumer law.
Please be kindly reminded that we have the right to refuse a commercial warranty claim for any unauthorized repair, unless mandatory consumer law requires otherwise.
Damage caused by unconventional or improper use, such as traffic accidents, unauthorized modifications, incorrect assembly/installation, lack of maintenance, etc., is not covered by the commercial warranty where such damage caused or materially contributed to the defect.
The liability for defects in wear parts under the commercial warranty is limited to their usual service life as intended by the manufacturer. A defect does not exist if the impairment of function is due to normal wear and tear resulting from use, which occurs within this intended period.
Keep in mind that the engine and the battery on an e-bike are also wear parts which can be guaranteed with these:
Motor and Control Unit: 2 years or 10,000 km.
Battery: 2 years or 500 cycles under 70% capacity.
The commercial warranty applies only to the first owner of the product and is not transferable, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
Important distinction: statutory legal guarantee and commercial warranty
The following information refers exclusively to the additional manufacturer's warranty given by the Brand MapFour. The statutory legal guarantee of conformity, the guarantee against hidden defects and any other mandatory consumer rights applicable in the EU, Luxembourg, Germany or France remain fully applicable and are not limited by this commercial warranty.
The statutory legal guarantee is a mandatory right against the seller. The commercial warranty is a voluntary additional promise by Mapfour or the relevant guarantor. The consumer may always rely on mandatory statutory rights free of charge, even if a commercial warranty claim is refused or limited.
Warranty Coverage
Our warranty is designed to provide the necessary quality assurance and support for our customers' purchases.
Warranty Time | Parts | Explanation |
5 years | Frame (mainly about construction and non-broken; paintwork or corrosion are not covered). Front Fork (aluminum without suspension fork). Frames with special functions have only 2 years warranty, such as full-suspension frames and fold frames. The carbon fiber frame and carbon fiber front fork have a 3-year warranty. | The commercial warranty covers the vehicle's ability to withstand normal use without deformation or deep cracks. Please note that frame breakage and fractures caused by traffic accidents and incidents are not covered by the commercial warranty. |
Some products distributed by MapFour may have an extended Guarantee period, which is specified in the instruction manual and is binding for MapFour. Generally, Guarantee applies only to the first owner of the product and is not transferable, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
